Man smashes glass door with brick in breaking and entering

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Investigators are trying to identify the man who used a brick to break open a glass door and break into a Cleveland Avenue office.

Central Ohio Crime Stoppers said the unidentified male approached the multi-business offices located at 4337 Cleveland Ave. at about 2:30am on July 11. Surveillance cameras caught the man using a brick to smash open a glass door and glass reception window to get inside an office. Soon after, the man fled the scene.

Although there was extensive damage to the building, investigators said nothing was stolen from the property.

The suspect is described as a black male with a light complexion and thin build. He has short, dark hair, a receding hairline and a light beard. He was wearing dark pants and a light-colored pull-on hoodie with a patch on the upper left side and “abstract” designs at the shoulders and hood lining. He also has a notable tattoo on the right side of his neck.

Central Ohio Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for any information leading to the arrest or indictment of the people responsible for this crime.  Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS (8477) or go to www.stopcrime.org to e-mail a tip.
