SOLON, OH (WCMH) — Police say the man who caused the crash, pulled out a rifle and killed the mother of three.
Police told WEWS, Matthew Desha, 29, ran a red light at the intersection of Solon and Richmond roads and crashed into the vehicle of Debbie Pearl, 53.
According to police, after the crash, Desha, pulled out the rifle and shot Pearl several times. When officers arrived on scene, Pearl was lying in the roadway.
Friends of Desha, a military veteran, said he suffered from mental health and had recently stopped taking his medication.
“He didn’t trust the government and all this and what they’re doing to people,”
Loretta Grasser told WEWS. “He would go back home and beat on the walls.”
Police say Pearl and Desha did not know each other and continue to investigate the shooting.
