Sex offender indicted for making advances toward teen while she was in the shower

James Woodruff

COLUMBUS (WCMH)–The Franklin County Prosecutor has announced that 43-year-old James Woodruff Jr. has been indicted for burglary and importuning after he made sexual advances towards a teenager.

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien says Woodruff entered the bathroom of the victim’s residence on Aug. 21 while she was taking a shower and made sexual advances towards her. He is a registered sex offender from a conviction out of Kentucky.

O’Brien says Woodruff, who lives near the victim, “purposely sent two siblings on an errand away from home so he could make sexual advances on their third sibling as she was home alone showering.”

Woodruff was indicted on one count of burglary (F2) and two counts of importuning (F5). provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
