Friday Freebies: Festivals for everyone!

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Didn’t go to enough festivals this summer? Don’t worry, this weekend is jam-packed with honey, popcorn, rock climbing, arts and food truck festivals! And the best part is that they’re all FREE!


Franklinton Friday: Summer Stargazing

Trying to squeeze the most you can out of summer nights? Head over to Franklinton and learn about the secrets of the stars from the STEAM Factory. Astrophysicist Paul Sutter will guide you through the galaxy and give you an up close and personal look at the face of the sun!

Marion Popcorn Festival

Who doesn’t love popcorn? Marion has the biggest popcorn festival in the world, and it’s an event you won’t want to miss! There’s tons of free entertainment for all ages, including national and local acts, plus you won’t want to miss the Popcorn Parade through downtown Marion.

Lithopolis Honey Fest

In its 10th year, the Lithopolis Honey Fest is back this year and bigger than ever! Check out local bee keepers, taste different types of honey, check out the art and live music and stop by the mead and wine tasting! Not only is the admission free, but so is parking and the shuttles!


Driving Park Community Center

Celebrate the grand reopening of the Driving Park Community Center this Saturday! With activities like rock climbing, bounce houses and much more, it’s fun for the whole family! Plus, you don’t have to worry about missing the OSU game — they’ll be watching it there, too!

Community Rock Climbing Festival

Are you a seasoned rock climber or just interested in trying it? Head over to Scioto Audubon metro park and check out the Community Rock Climbing Festival! There will be rock climbing clinics for beginners, climbing competitions, a slackline walk, yoga, food vendors and so much more!

Can’t get enough of Pokémon Go!? Come out to Blendon Woods metro park and catch ‘em all! You’ll search the park for every Pokémon you can find after dark and after hours.
