COLUMBUS (WCMH) – Some of Donald Trump’s family members visited Central Ohio today.
Donald’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump came to the Ohio State Fairgrounds as part of the “Women for Trump Ohio Tour”.
“We sort of formed this group on our own and again we just wanted to make clear the man that we know and there’s a false narrative that exists out there and we really wanted to clarify that,” says Lara.
She says anyone that suggests Donald does not care about women is false and they’re here to discuss that with people at the Home and Garden show in Columbus.
“He doesn’t care if you’re a man or a woman, what your ethnic background is, anything,” says Lara. “He wants the best person for the job and that’s truly how he wants to see your country run.”
Her husband Eric Trump also came to the event.
“This is not just a woman versus man problem. It’s not just a Hispanic or African-American (problem). This is an American problem and we need to fix this country for all Americans,” he says.
Hillary Clinton’s campaign spoke out today saying Trump’s disrespectful comments toward women in the past have no place in America.
“What we see is an attempt, a very panicked attempt to try to reach out to women in Ohio because people here have understood and have seen the kind of divisive things that Donald Trump has called women all kinds of names,” says Ohio press secretary for Hillary Clinton’s campaign Laura Zapata.
Besides Lara, Omarosa, Katrina Pierson, Diamond & Silk and Lynne Patton were also a part of the “Women for Trump” group. They’re expected to tour the state through Sunday.
