SWAT situation evacuates homes on west side


COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Columbus Police evacuated homes on the city’s west side Saturday morning as a safety precaution.

According to Columbus Police, the SWAT team responded to a report of a man inside a home with a gun on the 40 block of South Ogden Avenue just after 4am. The situation lasted about two hours, closing down area streets and causing police to evacuate residents from their homes in the area.

The standoff concluded without incident, with the Columbus Police confirming that the situation was contained.
