COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Columbus police say Rahat Islam used someone else’s credit card to pay for a trip to the dentist, and that’s exactly where officers arrested him.
According to the Columbus Division of Police, at Islam was seen taking a wallet from an employee’s desk at the PNC Bank in the 2100 block of Bethel Road, September 12.
Later, the employee’s credit card company informed him his car was being used at a nearby dentist’s office.
Columbus Police Officer Hammerberg immediately drove to the office, where Islam was still in the chair receiving dental services.
“Officer Hammerberg waited for the suspect to exit the back and arrested him without incident,” said CPD Burglary Det. Craig Bowen.
Islam has been charged with receiving stolen property, forgery and identity fraud.
