Florida Amber Alert cancelled, children found safe

CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – An Amber Alert issued for two missing Citrus County toddlers was cancelled Monday morning after authorities reported finding the children safe in Georgia.

An Amber Alert was issued for the toddlers on Sunday after authorities said their homeless mother burst into the home of the toddlers’ legal guardian, grabbed them and fled.

Stacey Williams, 38, was wanted on charges of burglary with battery and interference with child custody. According to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, her children, 3-year-old Rylan Williams and 1-year-old Mason Williams were placed by legal court order with another person, who is now their legal guardian.

Stacey Williams was believed to have been traveling with her husband and the children’s father, Ryan Williams. Citrus County Sheriff’s Office said the pair have a volatile relationship and are also drug users.

On Monday, the Georgia State Police located Ryan and Stacey Williams in Catoosa County, GA. The children were with them.

Williams had texted the childrens’ legal guardian on Saturday insisting that she see the children. She was told, “No.”

Later that day, authorities say she barged into the guardian’s house in Lecanto, grabbed and smashed the guardian’s phone when she tried to call 911. Williams also scratched the woman’s face, deputies said. She picked up her children and carried them away.
