ELYRIA, OH (WCMH) — Another Ohio grandmother has been charged after police say she overdosed with her truck running and in drive, while her 8-month-old grandson was in the backseat.

According to WEWS, Debra Hyde, has been charged with child endangering after she had to be revived in the parking lot of a gas station.

Police say when emergency crews arrived on scene Monday, they found Hyde passed out in the locked truck with her foot on the brake, the vehicle in drive and her grandson in the backseat without a carseat.

The child was pulled out by firefighters through the rear sliding glass window, and after breaking a window to get to Hyde, she was administered a dose of Narcan.

Hyde was revived and taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Hyde told WEWS she was sorry for what happened. “I love my grandson so much, I don’t know why I decided to take drugs with him inside my truck,” said Hyde. “I’m humiliated, I’m so embarrassed that I could resort to that.”

The child was placed in custody of children services.
