Car crashes into restaurant in northeast Columbus

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Around 3:30 am Columbus Police responded to calls of a car hitting a building.

According to officers, a driver was heading northbound on Westerville Road when he lost control of his car and went off the road by Oakland Park Avenue.

The car then went across a parking lot and crashed into the Erigavo Restaurant’s doorway.

The driver is reportedly okay.

It is not clear what caused the driver to lose control and go off the roadway, but a Columbus Police officer was sitting at the light when it happened and witnessed the whole thing. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
