CULVER CITY, CA (WCMH) – A California advertising agency is turning heads with its unique vacation policy.
Steelhouse Marketing is a California based advertising agency that creates internet advertising solutions for its customers.
For its employees, it provides a number of benefits, including 100% healthcare coverage, weekly food deliveries and a gated dog run. The company’s most unique benefit might be its vacation policy.
A recent job listing also describes an ‘open-ended vacation policy with an annual vacation stipend.’
That’s right, not only do they give employees unlimited time off, they pay up to $2,000 per year for their employees to go on vacation.
Employees are reimbursed for anything related to their vacations. They can’t just take the money and stay home though.
CEO Mark Douglas told Business Insider, “”I actually want you to go somewhere and enjoy yourself.”
Douglas says he wants to encourage his employees to actually use their time off. He also wants to make an impression on his employees, that way when some of them eventually break off and start their own business, they might enact something similar.
“The first time I got exposed to real corporate culture that had elements of what we’re talking about, it changed my perspective for the rest of my life,” he told Business Insider.
