Kitten rescued in California finds new home


SACRAMENTO CA., (KCRA) What was supposed to be a night of routine calls for a Roto-Rooter assistant manager and a Citrus Heights, California police officer turned out to be anything but last Friday.
Mike Jennings drove into a scene filled with Sacramento Metro firefighters, Citrus Heights police officers and animal control officials huddled around a storm drain.

The Roto-Rooter assistant manager had been by the area a couple of hours earlier working various calls when first responders began their work.

Figuring it was likely a trapped animal of some sort, Jennings went outside the bounds of his normal workflow to see if he could assist.

“I asked him if there was a cat in there, and he said, ‘Yeah.’ I let him know that I had a sewer video inspection camera and that I might be able to help get the cat out,” Jennings explained.
