CENTRAL OHIO (WCMH) — October is National Pizza month! To celebrate, we asked NBC4 viewers what their favorite pizza shops in Central Ohio were, and here’s what they said:
When we asked viewers about their favorite pizza shop, one name kept coming up over and over again: Diamond Jim’s. Located in downtown Lancaster, the mom and pop shop serves a stone hearth baked pizza with fresh ingredient. Customers say it’s the best thin crust pizza around.
Viewers say that Tommy’s is the best pizza in Columbus. Tommy’s has been serving pizza to Central Ohio for more than 60 years. With three locations throughout the Columbus metro area, you’re never far from the great taste of Italy.
Dante’s has been in business since 1973, and their commitment to quality pizza hasn’t wavered through the years. There specialty is traditional style pizza made with fresh, homemade ingredients. Conveniently located on Indianola Avenue, it’s also a campus favorite.
Massey’s has been serving up great pies since Jim and Dan Massucci first introduced pizza at their Grandview Italian restaurant in 1949. The secret to their success? A secret dough receipe, old world tomato sauce, a blend of fresh mozzarella and aged provolone and their exclusive Guido Brand Portofino Pepperoni.
Visiting the Marysville area? You won’t want to miss a trip to Benny’s. Benny’s is much more than just a pizza joint — with a large outdoor patio, two bars and live music throughout the year, it’s well worth the trip. Pro tip: Order the Dumpster pizza. You won’t be disappointed.
Located in the small town of Thurston, Pizza Ria’s Too is home of the “Pizza with attitude!” Viewers love everything about the place, from the unique crust flavor to the tomato sauce to the personalized customer service.
An Italian recipe passed down from generation to generation, fresh dough, homemade pizza sauce… what more could you want in a pizza? Taranto’s has even been voted best in the midwest and received the international piazza award in Las Vegas. Bonus: They offer gluten-free options, too!
With two locations in Chillicothe and a new location in Greenfield, south-central Ohio has a clear favorite when it comes to pizza’s. Jerry’s Pizza has been family owned and operated for decades and has one of the most unique (and delicious) crust flavors around!
Located on campus, Hounddog’s is another Columbus favorite. Viewers recommend the Smokin’ Joe’s crust with hot sauce. Plus, they have an amazing happy hour every day.
NiDovi is a family owned carry out pizza shop and a favorite among NBC4 viewers. Located in Dublin, the shop offers homemade specialties, including pizza, wings, brisket and much more. Need an event catered? They can do that, too!
