EVERETT, WA (WCMH) – After outscoring their first three opponents 170 to nothing, a Washington high school football team has a problem. Nobody wants to play them.
The staff of Cedar Park Christian High School in Washington decided to forfeit the game to the much bigger and stronger Archbishop Murphy School next week.
The decision came after some parents wouldn’t let their children suit up for the game due to safety concerns, KIRO reported.
Another school, Granite Falls, made the same decision.
“We can’t put our 5-foot-8, 125-pound quarterback up against their nose tackle who happens to be 6’5″ and weighs over 330 pounds. He’s going to put that kid in the hospital,” said Stacy Morris, the parent of a student at Granite Falls High School.
Archbishop Murphy is loaded with Division One college recruits, like 6’8” 260 pound Junior Abe Lucas.
“I’m just ready to get back on the field and start playing again with all my boys,” said Lucas.
While no team has scored a single point against Archbishop Murphy, the school’s athletic director says their players have suffered their fair share of losses too, and they just want to get back on the field.
