COLUMBUS (WCMH) — October is underway here in Central Ohio and there couldn’t be more to do. With fall festivities of every kind your weekend will be booked solid while your wallet remains intact!
Now in its 36th year, the Columbus Italian Festival is a Central Ohio tradition that you can’t miss. Kids ages 12 and under get in free and general admission is only $5. With performances all weekend long, a bocce ball competition, tons of Italian cultural demonstrations and delicious food, you wont’ be disappointed!
What would fall be without some delicious apple butter? Head over to Mt. Gilead State Park and check out all the activities: apple peeling and coring, costume contests, games, campsite judging, trick or treat and so much more! Plus, there will be the famous VIP Country Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Admission is free, but a donation for breakfast is appreciated.
Celebrate the harvest moon and experience what it was like to live in the 1840s at Infirmary Mound park in Granville! Check out the period actors featuring craftsmen, shooters and other re-enactors. Plus, you wont want to miss the Harvest Moon Family Festival on Saturday!
Head over to Whole Foods Easton for a fun, free activity for all ages! You’ll create your very own market bags, plus parents can check out the delicious and healthy snacks and refreshments.
Don’t miss the first TEDx sattelite of the year at the Ohio Union! The event is open and free to both students and the public, and you can catch three live talks and a video focusing on the field of chemistry. Come out and expand your mind while sharing ideas worth spreading!
Can’t make it up to Mt. Gilead this weekend but don’t want to miss out on the apple butter? Head over to Groveport on Saturday for Apple Butter Day. Catch the 4th annual Apple Butter Day 5K, craft demonstrations, hayrides, live music, the annual cane pole fishing derby and so much more!
Celebrate everything fall at the Freeman’s Farm Fall Festival! There are hayrides, campfire concessions and a petting zoo! Plus you can learn to make a scarecrow and apple butter or check out the other fall decorating supplies. Admission is free, but other crafts and activities may require tickets.
