Ohio tree trimmer killed while helping clean up after hurricane

ORLANDO, FL (WCMH) – An Ohio tree trimmer was killed in Florida while helping clean up after Hurricane Matthew.

It happened in Volusia County, Florida in a neighborhood along Old Dixie Highway, WESH reported.

An employee of a Cleveland area tree trimming service was cutting a large oak tree that was damaged by the storm when some debris toppled onto him, pinning him underneath.

Neighbors called 911 while coworkers removed the log.

“It’s sad. Any time you see a tragedy like this, you just hate to see something like this happen. It’s a sad day for us here,” a neighbor told WESH.

Paramedics tried to revive man, but he was not responsive. His identity has not yet been released.
