COLUMBUS (WCMH) — “Vote or don’t complain!”
That’s what Ted Williams, “The Man With the Golden Voice” had to say to NBC4’s Katie Ferrell Tuesday. She ran into him while he was registering to vote at the Franklin County Board of Elections on Morse Road.
He said it’s the first time he’s voting in decades!
After spending years homeless and struggling with addiction he said he can’t wait to vote and it’s something he takes seriously.
“Special is an understatement. This is monumental okay. I am voting for the first time in 25 years. 25 years this election got me to come out here and vote and not complain. If I don’t vote and complain everybody’s going to be like Ted you didn’t vote,” he said.
He said he wants everyone to come out and vote or silence themselves.
Five years ago Williams became famous after a video of him panhandling on the side of a Columbus road went viral.
He was quickly dubbed, “The Man With the Golden Voice” and has turned his life around. He told Ferrell he is starting an internship of sorts with the Denver Nuggets Announcers.
