Police: Multiple shots fired, man dead on city’s south side

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Police are investigating a shooting on the south side of Columbus that left one man dead.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, at about 11:56am Wednesday, officers were called to a shooting in the alley between East Markison and Southwood avenues.

A 46-year-old man was taken to Grant Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Police have not released the man’s name.

Witness told police they heard several shots fired, but no information on suspects or motive has been released.

This is the 75th homicide of the year in the city of Columbus, according to police.
