Vacant building catches fire in east Columbus

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Columbus firefighters responded to a fire on Mount Vernon Avenue in east Columbus early Wednesday morning.

The call came in just after 2:15 am for a fire at the corner of Mount Vernon Avenue and North 18th Street.

Firefighters got to the scene and discovered a fire in the back of a structure that was identified as the old Limelight Nightclub building.

The building has been vacant for years and the source of the fire was not immediately identified.
