Robber steals candy, cash from store, flees on bicycle

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Police are looking for a man they say robbed a convenience store Saturday morning.

Surveillance photos caught the suspect walking into the Walgreen’s store at 1162 Harrisburg Pike at about 9:50am Saturday. The man slammed a candy bar on the counter and asked the cashier for change for a $100 bill. Police said the suspect had his hand under his jacket, implying he had a weapon, and demanded the clerk to open the register.

Once the register was opened, the suspect removed an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the store. He was last seen riding away from the area on a bicycle.

Police describe the suspect as a white male in his mid-20s, between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall and having acne on his face. He was last seen wearing a blue, puffy jacket, dark pants and a striped beanie with a ball on top.

Anyone with information on this robbery is asked to contact the Columbus Division of Police robbery unit at 614-645-4665 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-8477. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
