Shootings lead to more security at Linden McKinley High School

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — More security personnel is being added to Linden McKinley High School after two students were shot in front of the school.

Columbus Public Schools tells NBC4 there will now be six security guards watching the school indefinitely. That’s two more than they previously had assigned to work at Linden McKinley.

There will also be two police officers patrolling in the outside area for increased security.

This comes after a 12-year-old and 15-year-old were shot while leaving the school Thursday.

Both students are expected to recover. Columbus police are investigating the shooting and so far don’t know of a motive. However, they said they do not believe the suspect is connected to the school. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
