Buckeye Alert issued after robbery south of campus

COLUMBUS (WCMH)–The Ohio State University Office of Emergency Management issued a Buckeye Alert on Friday after an armed robbery south of campus.

OSU Emergency Management tweeted that that the suspect is a black male between 6’0″ and 6’3″ in dark pants with a gray shirt over his face. He was last seen heading north toward campus from the area of 8th Avenue and Highland Street.

Police say there are extra patrols in the area of south campus. Students in the area are asked to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings.

Anyone who sees the individual is asked to call 911 immediately.

Columbus Police are investigating.
