MARION, OHIO (WCMH) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident in Marion Township.
According to the highway patrol, 53-year-old Vernon Mount was killed Saturday evening after he lost control of his Chevy S10 on State Route 309. State troopers say that Mount’s vehicle crossed left of center, traveling off the left side of the road when he over corrected, causing the vehicle to go off the right side of the road. Mount over corrected again and his pickup truck overturned.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says Mount was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. Medics transported Mount to Marion General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The accident is still under investigation.
