One injured in south side shootout

COLUMBUS, OH (WCMH) — Columbus Police say one person was sent to the hospital after an apparent shootout in the parking lot of a south Columbus night club.

The shooting happened just after 2:30am in the parking lot of the Grand Champion Lounge on South Champion Avenue. According to police, 29-year-old Olajuwon Owensby was struck by a bullet in the lower back. He was transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition and was later upgraded to stable condition. Owensby is expected to recover from his injuries.

Officers do not have a description of the suspect at this time.
