One injured in shooting in northeast Columbus

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Columbus Police say one person was hurt in a shooting on the city’s northeast side Sunday evening.

Police were dispatched to the area of 2091 Jewett Drive around 5:56pm for the report of a shooting.

Officers on scene found 38-year-old Daniel Johnson suffering from a gunshot wound. Johnson told officers that he was standing in front of the address when an unknown suspect started firing at him. He was shot in the right hip.

Johnson was taken to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to be okay.

Johnson wasn’t able to provide any suspect information to police. The incident is under investigation.
