23 arrested in Hocking County drug sweep

LOGAN, OH (WCMH) – The Hocking County Sheriff’s office announced the arrest of 23 people for numerous drug related cases.

Prosecutors say a total of 41 drug related indictments were returned late last week by a Hocking County grand jury.

Hocking County Sheriff’s Interdiction Unit and the United States Marshal Service Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST), with the assistance of the Hocking and Athens Major Crimes Unit and the Vinton County Sheriff’s Office conducted a warrant sweep starting early Tuesday morning.

Investigators say they seized undisclosed amounts of heroin, methamphetamine and other narcotics while serving the arrest warrants.

The Sheriff’s Office coordinated the sweep with the Hocking County Common Pleas Court and Clerk of Court. Judge John Wallace arraigned most of the individuals before they were transported to jail to help streamline the process.
