Teenager arrested after north side home invasion, two more suspects on the run

COLUMBUS (WCMH)– Columbus Police say 16-year-old Craivon R. Johnson has been arrested following a home invasion on the north side of Columbus.

It happened shortly before 4:00 pm on October 24, 2016, on the 2600 block of Halstock Court.

Police say Johnson and two other juvenile suspects reportedly forced their way into the residence at gunpoint.

The victim, who is not being named, was held at gunpoint while the suspects took his property. The suspects then fled on foot and the victim called 911.

An officer responding to the call recognized the suspects in the area and chased them on foot. The chase ended in the area of Crossover Boulevard and Rosebush Drive.

Johnson reportedly struggled with the officer, causing minor injuries to the officer, during his arrest. The other two suspects got away.

The officer was treated at a local hospital and released.

A handgun was recovered at the scene of the arrest, and a loaded magazine was found on Johnson during his arrest.

Johnson has been charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, kidnapping, and obstruction physical harm.

Police are asking that anyone with more information on the incident or remaining suspects call the Robbery Unit at 614-645-4665.
