Archie Griffin to make appearance for DICK’S Sporting Goods store opening in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, OH (WDTN) – Former running back and the only two-time Heisman Trophy winner Archie Griffin will make a Springfield appearance Oct. 30.

He’ll help open the DICKS’S Sporting Goods newest location in Clark County. The three-day celebration will feature product giveaways, product demonstrations by industry experts and experiential activities for attendees of all ages to enjoy, according to a press release from the store.

It’ll be held at 1690 N. Bechtle Avenue in Springfield from Friday, Oct. 28 to Sunday, Oct. 30 — where Griffin will make his appearance, from 2-4 p.m.

Guests in line early will get a chance to open the DICK’S Sporting Goods Gift Locker at 7:45 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and 8:45 a.m. on Sunday, according to the release.

The first 100 people in line on Friday receive a free Adidas Go-To Performance T-Shirt and the first 100 adults in line on Saturday and Sunday will receive a free mystery gift card ranging in value from $5 to $500, with one person winning the $500 card each day, according to the release.
