Former OSU childcare worker sentenced for sexual abuse

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Nathan Fassnacht will spend the next 18 years in prison for sexually abusing a young boy over a period of several years.

Earlier this year, Fassnacht pleaded guilty to several charges pertaining to the sexual abuse.

The victim’s mother asked the judge to impose the maximum sentence on Fassnacht. “The longer that he’s away, the longer we can protect another child,” she said.

Fassnacht apologized to the court for his actions, “I know everything I’ve done is a terrible, terrible mistake. There’s no excuse for it. I know I deserve to go to prison. I’m ready for that.”

Fassnacht must register as a tier three sex offender, upon his release from prison.

That means he must check in with his local sheriff’s office every 90 days, for the rest of his life. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
