CHICAGO, IL (WCMH) — The World Series is now heading to Chicago, and to honor the series shift on this Throwback Thursday, we found some old clips of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton having fun at a Cubs game long before they were presidential candidates.
It was in July 9, 200 when Trump was invited by the Chicago Cubs to not only throw out the first pitch during their game against their crosstown rivals, the White Sox, but also to sing the 7th inning stretch.
Trump stood proudly next to then girlfriend Melania Knauss and belted out “Take Me Out to the Ballgame,” albeit somewhat off-key.
Trump, a long time New York Yankees fan, was later asked which team he was rooting for that day. He said simply, “the home team.”
Trump isn’t the only presidential candidate to sing for the Cubs. His democratic counterpart, Hillary Clinton, also sang at Wrigley Field when she was still the First Lady in 1994. Unlike Trump, she had a lot of help from legendary announcer Harry Caray.
Who do you think sang it best? Let us know in our poll below!
