NPD: Two Newark police officers arrested in separate incidents

NEWARK, OH (WCMH)–The Newark Division of Police says two officers were arrested overnight in separate and unrelated incidents.

Officer Tim Hansel was arrested in Heath on a charge of domestic violence late Saturday night. Officer Dale Queen was arrested in Newark on a charge of assault, also overnight. Both officers were off duty, police say.

According to a press release from Newark Police, Queen was hired in April of 1994 and Hansel was hired in June of 2009. Both officers were immediately place on administrative leave.

An internal investigation will occur after the criminal cases are concluded, police said.
