One dead following Athens County crash

ATHENS COUNTY, OH (WCMH) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol says one man is dead following a two-vehicle crash in Athens County.

The crash happened around 12:45pm near mile marker 37 on US Route 50. According to officers 62-year-old Mark Highland of Coolville stopped his motorcycle in the right lane of US 50 eastbound. William Stover, 57, of Albany was heading eastbound on US 50 and struck the motorcycle with his truck.

Medics pronounced Highland dead at the scene.

Troopers say the accident is still under investigation.
