PIKE COUNTY, OHIO (WCMH) — There’s a lot of questions surrounding a rural property on Nipgen Road in Pike County.
Neighbor Theresa Nedes said there was a lot of police activity there yesterday, digging for something in the ground.
“Then we notice that they brought in a bulldozer and a Bobcat and they started digging up there. We don’t know what they were digging,” she said. “They were jackhammering, so we really don’t know what’s going on, just that there is something going on across the street. We have no idea what it is.”
Dan Tierney spokesperson for the Ohio Attorney General’s Office confirmed that their office executed a search warrant with local departments yesterday, but could not comment further on the case.
The Pike County Sheriff’s Office has told NBC4 “No comment.”
Nedes said there was a deputy there overnight and saw at least one there today.
Neighbors said Vance Walls used to live at the property before he went to prison. FBI.gov documents show Walls was arrested as part of the “Chilly Loco” drug trafficking case back in 2010 for conspiracy to distribute and possess marijuana. Police have not confirmed this search warrant has to do with Walls.
Nedes said his children now live at the property.
“I actually feel sorry for them because I know they have nothing to do with what’s going on over there, so it’s something that happened when they were children or probably before,” said Nedes. “They have no idea, I think, what’s going on over there.”
Tierney confirms this search warrant has nothing to do with the Rhoden investigation.
