CHICAGO (WCMH)–Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany told the Chicago Tribune that there will be six prime-time Friday games featuring Big Ten teams in 2017.

This will be part of the league’s new television agreements with ESPN/ABC and Fox.

The selected games will be revealed this week.

Delany told the Tribune there will be three conference games and three non-league games in September and October.

He said the league is reluctant to ask schools with giant seating capacities to host Friday night games, which may rule out Ohio State.

The University of Michigan has said no to the proposition altogether. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
