2-vehicle crash in Knox County leaves 2 dead

FREDERICKTOWN, OH (WCMH) — Two people are dead after a two-vehicle crash in Knox County Saturday evening.

The accident occurred around 7pm on State Route 13 in Middlebury Township. The Ohio State Highway Patrol says 31-year-old Landree Rennpage of Mansfield and 68-year-old John Bentley of Fredericktown were pronounced dead at the scene. According to state troopers, Bentley was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of S.R. 13 when he struck Rennpage’s vehicle head-on.

The highway patrol says that both drivers were wearing their seat belts and that alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
