One dead, one in critical after early morning car crash

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — One person is dead and another is in critical condition after an early morning car accident in southeast Columbus.

The accident happened at 4:05am at the intersection of South Hamilton Road and Refugee Road. According to Columbus Police, James Jamison lost control of his Chevy Impala and drove off the roadway. When he tried to regain control of his vehicle, he drove through both southbound lanes of Hamilton Road and struck a concrete pillar. Jamison was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger in the car, Sardae Qualls, was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition.
