VIDEO: High school student attacked for supporting Pres. Elect Trump

REDWOOD CITY, CA (WCMH) -– A California high school student says she was physically beaten over her support for President Elect Donald Trump.

The incident was caught on a cell phone camera. It shows one student grab the victim’s hair as the fight break out.

That victim is Jade Armenio, a sophomore at Woodside High school, KRON-TV reports. She believes the confrontation was about an Instagram post she put up election night.

She posted a screen grab of CNN’s broadcast projecting Mr. Trump’s win. Armenio says her friend slothy_loppy commented “Hell yeah,” followed by another comment from him that says, ”F Mexicans.”

Armenio responded, “One of the few things we can agree on slothy_ loppy.”

Armenio claims her response was to the first comment supporting her post about Mr. Trump’s win, but she says other students didn’t see it that way.

“She said, ‘you support Trump. You hate Mexicans,’” Armenio said about her attacker. “I said, ‘No, I do not,’ and she said, ‘I wanna do it’ and I said, ‘you want to do what?’ And she threw me to the floor, pulled out my hair, ripped out my earrings, kicked me inside of the head, kicked me in the stomach, punched me in the nose.”

“She’s got Mexican friends,” said her mother, Gina Armenio. “She’s got black friends. We have them over. We do not have any issues. We’re not racist and have never been racist and nobody, nobody should beat somebody up because of that. So if that’s her reasoning, I’m appalled.”

The sophomore’s parents are now considering sending her to another school.

The district’s superintendent, James Lianides, issued the following statement to KRON-TV:

Woodside staff responded immediately to the incident. The incident was investigated in conjunction with law enforcement and appropriate disciplinary action has been taken. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
