Armed robber steals cash, video games from Whitehall store

WHITEHALL, OH (WCMH) — A man is still wanted a month after stealing cash and video games from a Whitehall store during an armed robbery.

Police said the man entered the GameStop store at 3598 East Main Street at about 12:52pm on Oct. 11. He approached the counter and asked an employee for two PlayStation 4 consoles. As the salesman brought the items to the front, the suspect pulled out a gun and demanded cash from the register.

Once the man had the money, he took the consoles and fled the store in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late 30s or early 40s, between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall with a thin build, unshaven face and short black hair. He was last seen wearing sunglasses, a red t-shirt with a white design, gray sweatpants and black and white tennis shoes.

Central Ohio Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for any information leading to the arrest or indictment of the people responsible for this crime.  Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS (8477) or go to www.stopcrime.org to e-mail a tip.
