Officers searching for man accused of killing girlfriend of 10 years, burying her in basement

PHOENIX, AZ (WCMH) — A manhunt is underway for a man police say killed his girlfriend of 10 years and buried her in the basement of their home.

The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office says they believe that Jeremy White murdered 48-year-old Christine Caldwell, also known as Christin. Caldwell’s family last spoke to her on Monday, but reported her missing after she began missing her regular after-work calls to her mother.

“It was Jeremy that called, and said something to the effect that she was sleeping,” said Caldwell’s sister Nancy Waters. “He knows that she usually calls around that time. So, he thought he would. That is not normal. Jeremy doesn’t call us.”

Caldwell’s daughters decided to search for her at the house she shared with White. After searching the home, they decided to wait for her. They had no idea she never left the home.

According to KDVI, investigators executed a search warrant at the home. They found Caldwell’s body buried in the basement.

Officers now have an arrest warrant out for White, who may face charges for second-degree murder. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
