Columbus (WCMH) – Here comes the payback for our cold starts we have had the last few days. It was a late first freeze here in Columbus this season, tied for the 11th latest freeze.
We saw our first freeze on the 10th day of November of 2016.
Indian Summer is coming!!!
Indian Summer is more or less the first abnormally warm spell of temperatures that comes after our first killing frost or freeze. Technically some parts of our area had temps that had fallen below freezing earlier this season. In the past week however, we have seen several widespread freezes that have included everyone.
Cold mornings in the past week:
With numbers this cold, and a major warm-up expected, we can call the weather later this week “Indian Summer”
In fact, Friday might go down as the 4th warmest afternoon so far in November. Most likely it will be our last chance at 70 this month too.
Again, the qualifier includes “abnormally warm” and with a normal high of 52-53 degrees late week, highs in the mid 60s Thursday, and near 70 Friday would qualify.
My advice…. ENJOY IT, ENJOY IT, ENJOY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I should have put this in a larger font, but it is going to get nasty chilly over the weekend, with snow flurries, wind, clouds… brrrr!
