One person killed in Licking County crash

LICKING COUNTY, OH (WCMH) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that left one person dead this morning.

According to the OSHP, at about 7:46am, Friday, troopers were called to state Route 13 near Park Drive on the report of a crash.

Troopers say a 1999 Honda CR-V driving southbound on SR 13 traveled off the right side of the road, struck a tree and overturned. The driver of the vehicle, James “Chris” Dotson, of Thornville, was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. According to troopers, it’s unclear what time the actual crash took place.

The vehicle Dotson was driving was found hours after the crash in a brushy area alongside the roadway by a resident.
