FORT WAYNE, IN (WANE) — According to a press release from John Chambers with the Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD), the 13-year-old girl who was the subject of an early Sunday morning Amber Alert has been found safely.
The Amber Alert was canceled at 11:45 a.m. according to a press release from Indiana State Police.
According to Officer Chambers, Ser Je Da Be was returned to her parents. She was located with a man, who is currently being interviewed by investigators. They were both located in southeast Fort Wayne.
The FWPD was looking for Ser Je Da Be after she went missing Saturday at 4 p.m. in Fort Wayne. They had believed she was abducted by her ex-boyfriend, a 22-year old Asian man, from a location in the 2000 block of Carterton Drive. She was believed to be in extreme danger. Police were searching for a two-door car with pink spray paint that possibly has Texas license plates.
The incident remains under investigation. Chambers said in the press release that no criminal charges have been filed against the man she was found with, but he is believed to be a person of interest.
