Police: 10-year-old boy stabs older brother over cigarettes

FOUNTAIN, CO (KXRM) — Police are investigating a stabbing between two brothers in Fountain, Colorado on Saturday.

It happened in the area of 7313 Liberty Court near Medicine Bow Avenue.

At the scene, officers found a 20-year-old man with a stab wound to his right arm.

Police say the victim’s 10-year-old brother had stabbed him in his arm during an argument over cigarettes.

Authorities say the victim’s injury was determined to be minor and he was treated at Memorial Hospital and released.

Police say the victim refused to press charges on his brother.

The case is being referred to the El Paso County Fourth Judicial District Attorney’s office.
