COLUMBUS, Ohio — J.T. Barrett speaks so softly you sometimes need to lean closer just to hear him. But make no mistake, he’s an intense competitor. Especially against that team up north.
Barrett seeks his 3rd win over Michigan as a starting quarterback Saturday at Ohio Stadium. He dislocated his ankle late in the 2014 game at OSU and missed the rest of the season.
He grew up in Texas but he says the rivalry was a major reason why he chose Ohio State. He’s learned the history and now helps teach it to younger players on the roster.
Michigan will challenge Barrett and the Buckeyes’ offense perhaps more than any team this season. The Wolverines have the nation’s #1 rated defense in 7 statistical categories.
Barrett has been responsible for 99 career touchdowns at Ohio State, 7 shy of the Big Ten record. He’s 25-3 as the starting QB at Ohio State.
