COLUMBUS, Ohio — For Billy Price and Pat Elflein, the Michigan game is personal. They’re both from Ohio. They’re both All-American candidates. And they both agree the OSU-Michigan game is won at the line of scrimmage.
That means it’s on Price and Elflein to control one of the nation’s best defensive lines. Michigan ranks at or near the top in most national defensive statistical categories, including #1 in the nation in tackles for loss.
Elflein will go through his senior day at Ohio Stadium Saturday, but that will not be only his unique experience of the day. When the team captains meet at the 50 yard line Elflein will stand with his high school teammate and long time friend, Michigan TE Jake Butt. They played at Pickerington North together and led the Panthers to the D-I state semifinals as seniors. Elflein says they’re great friends… but not this week.
