Woman rescued from house fire in northeast Columbus

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — One woman was transported to the hospital after a fire on the northeast side of Columbus.

Crews were called to the scene of a working fire at 1927 Aberdeen Avenue around 2:40pm Thursday afternoon.

There were at least four people in the home at the time of the fire. Everyone escaped the blaze. One woman was trapped in the home because of health issues.

Columbus Division of Fire Battalion Chief Steve Martin says fire crews were able to get the woman out and transport her to Riverside Hospital. Her condition is unknown at this time.

Martin says the blaze was contained quickly.

The fire started in an upstairs bedroom but the cause is still unknown.
