“Office creeper” swipes wallet, flees hotel in 3 minutes

WORTHINGTON, OH (WCMH) — A man investigators are calling the “office creeper” is wanted after stealing from a hotel last month.

Investigators say an unidentified man entered the Holiday Inn hotel at 7007 N. High St. in Worthington just after 10:15am on Oct. 20. He went into an employee’s office and took a wallet from a purse and left the hotel in a three-minute span.

The suspect is described as a black man in his mid-40s or early 50s. He has short afro hair and was last seen wearing a black bomber-style leather jacket, a blue and white striped pullover shirt, jeans and a silver wristwatch.

Investigators are unsure if the man had a vehicle waiting for him or if he fled on foot.

Central Ohio Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for any information leading to the arrest or indictment of the people responsible for this crime.  Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS (8477) or go to www.stopcrime.org to e-mail a tip. Tips can also be sent by text to “CRIMES” 274637, keyword CMH.
