COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Seven miles away from Ohio State’s campus, an apartment might hold the answer to the “why” factor of Monday’s attack.
Law enforcement was at the Nationwide Boulevard residence believed to be linked to Abdul Razak Ali Artan less than an hour after the attack that sent 11 people to the hospital. By nightfall, the FBI had arrived to execute a federal search warrant.
Neighbor Louann Carnahan said she talked to the suspect almost every day.
“Fairly decent person,” she said of him. “Had very nice mannerisms. Wasn’t rude. Wasn’t disrespectful.”
But on Monday night, the well-mannered college student was dead and federal authorities searching the apartment he’s believed to have lived in.
“It sickens me so very much,” Carnahan went on, adding that she’s praying for the families of those involved.
All law enforcement on scene opted not to comment as of Monday night.
