SPOKANE VALLEY, WA (KHQ) — Police in Spokane Valley, Washington are investigating a bizarre attempted break-in where two suspects used a blowtorch to try to get into a family’s home.
The family says it happened around 5am Saturday morning. Their teenage daughter woke up to her alarm and was getting ready for work when she heard a strange tapping on a window. She thought it was her father, but instead it was two men she didn’t know using the torch to try to melt the window open.
They took off when the teen saw them.
The family later discovered that the suspects appeared to have tried to burn the door into the room as well, possibly trying to melt the deadbolt before they gave up and tried the window.
