Surveillance cameras capture brutal attack of mother during home invasion

DUNWOODY, GA (WSB/WCMH) — Surveillance cameras captured the brutal attack of a Georgia woman inside her apartment during a home invasion.

The newly released video shows two men attacking the mother when she returned home from dropping her kids off at the bus stop on Nov. 9.

Police say the two men beat the woman with a metal pipe and a gun. They also stole money, jewelry and other items from the apartment.

“One of the suspects, for about 10 minutes, continued to assault the victim as the other suspect went through the house stealing items of value,” said Sgt. Aaron Belt with the Dunwoody Police Department. “The victim fought very, very courageously against those attackers and possibly could have prevented something more severe.”

The woman, who wishes to remain unidentified, told WSB-TV that she no longer feels safe inside her own home.

“All changed here because the sense of security and stability is not the same,” the victim said. “The fear always follows me when I get inside my home.”

Police hope the newly released security camera footage will help catch the two men responsible.

“Where hoping with the video footage they released that somebody out there can help us identify these two and help us get them off the street very quickly,” Belt said. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
